Our Mission
To provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professionals with training, publications, and software, all designed to facilitate the collection, analysis, interpretation, and management of occupational exposure data. To provide consulting services regarding the statistical analysis and interpretation of occupational and environmental data, the design of performance-based sampling strategies, and litigation support.
Software
The IHDataAnalyst program was specifically designed for the statistical analysis and interpretation of occupational and environmental concentration data (as well as occupational noise data). The program includes Bayesian Decision Analysis and Censored Data Analysis (analysis of datasets containing non-detects). A student version is available, as well as several freeware programs useful to occupational hygienists.
Training
EAS provides onsite and online training on the statistical analysis and interpretation of occupational (and environmental) concentration data, including datasets that contain non-detects. Student software is provided. Onsite training involves “hands on” workshops where participants practice with both provided and company datasets. Training is also available on designing sampling strategies and sample size estimation.
Consulting
EAS provides consulting services that covers the statistical analysis and interpretation of occupational and environmental data (relative to exposure limits), the design of performance-based sampling strategies and corporate exposure assessment programs, and litigation support (where the primary question is: What can reliably be concluded from an exposure measurement dataset?).
About EASi
Exposure Assessment Solutions, Inc. (EAS) was founded with three objectives: First, develop and provide data analysis and other software to the EH&S community. Second, provide onsite and online training opportunities regarding data analysis, data interpretation, and exposure sampling strategy design. Last, provide both general consulting and litigation support services regarding the statistical analysis of corporate occupational and environmental concentration datasets.
Paul Hewett Ph.D. CIH is the founder, president, and principal of EAS. Previously, Paul worked for NIOSH (Division of Respiratory Disease Studies), specializing in the measurement and characterization of pneumoconiosis producing dusts. His credentials include a masters in industrial hygiene from Central Missouri State University (1978), a doctorate in industrial hygiene from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Public Health (1991), as well as numerous peer reviewed publications addressing exposure data analysis and interpretation issues.
